Now write a report for the press on the seminar Water Logging in Dhaka City.
Tanvir Ahmed, Staff correspondence, Dhaka; 25 September 2019: Water logging is a very common problem in various parts of Dhaka City during the rainy season. Now it is rainy season. So, water logging is very acute here in Rampura, Malibug, Shantibug, Shantinagar and such other places. The suffering of Dhaka city knows no bounds. People have to walk through knee-deep water in these places. The vehicles stop running. The suffering people of these places have requested the authority several times to solve the waterlogging problem. Authorities concerned should be taken proper measures to rescue the rivers and the lowlands around the city from the encroacher and preserve them as rainwater reservoirs. Moreover, polybag manufactures and industrialists must be brought to book so that they stop producing and marketing polythene bags and install sewage treatment plants. Our combined efforts are necessary to solve the very problem and very soon.
